A Dog House That Uses Geothermal Energy

Miller Pet Products has come up with the idea to help keep dogs cool in the summer and warm in the winter even when outside. Made of 20% recycled materials and designed to be mostly underground, this eco-friendly dog house uses the Earth’s own temperature control system to heat and cool a special space for your dog. According to Miller Pet Products, the shell is “indestructible,” leak-proof, UV resistant, chew-proof, and comes with a lifetime warranty. Plus, with it partially buried, you won’t miss too much of your precious back yard space.
Does your dog love being outside in the yard? Would you get a product like this?

All it needs is a sealable lid and it would be a doggy coffin. No snoop dogg.
Ummm, what if it rains?
And what happens when it rains? Will the poor pooch be forced to sleep in what has effectively become a rain barrel, with water running in from the ground? Is there any drainage in this?
haha no; it’s leak-proof!
I think if you site it correctly, the rain shouldn’t be a problem. You might have to look at your outside space prior to buying it, but if there’s a high point or a place water drains away from, this could work well.
Of course, there is always the chance some raccoon or opossum might take a liking to it, so maybe it’s only good for dogs that aren’t willing to put up with that shit.
From the site:
Q. What if my DogEden becomes flooded?
A. Under normal weather circumstances the DogEden should not flood if properly installed. If it fills with water, use a mop, sponge, rag or shop-vac equipped for water removal to sop or suck out the water in your DogEden.
Also, under installation:
Step 2: Look around the yard for a level or slightly raised spot. *Note* Stay away from low lying areas or dips.
What a neat idea! I’m always amazed at new ideas people come up with. For additional ideas and dog house plans, check this out too: http://wwwdoghouseplans.net/how-to-build-a-dog-house.html
