I ran across photographer Tom Andrews‘ work on Flickr and stopped dead in my aimlessly-browsing-the-Internet tracks. This L.A.-based documentary photographer has such a unique view of the world; his photos of street dogs (and their owners) are simultaneously heartbreaking and beautiful, a testament to humanity and the intangible dog-human connection.
Design Crush has been Kelly Beall’s love letter to the design community since 2007. She’s a graphic designer and creative consultant by trade who doesn?t make or sell anything other than perception, but she’s passionate about supporting those who do. Giving them a voice and spreading their names and talents far and wide is what she does best!
I first met Kelly at Alt Summit a few years ago, where her sassy sense of humor had me giggling the whole conference. She’s also one of my favorite people to follow on Twitter and Instagram, where she regularly posts photos of her adorable dog Piper!
Okay, this little guy totally needs a name. He looks kind of like a “Stan” or a “Phil”, right?? What would you name this solid beechwood dog from Areaware?
Earlier in August, we announced that we were launching a new Facebook feature called “Cover Canine“. Even in our wildest, most optimistic dreams, we couldn’t have predicted the kind of response it received. In two short weeks, we received over 200 photos of dogs big and small, all showing off their best smiles. WHOA!
We know Jonathan Adler is a “dog person”; his many dog-themed products are evidence of that. So, we’re excited when a few pups are able to sneak their way into his interior design portfolio for their 15 minutes of fame.
Simon, Ralph, and Rocco are the three dog muses behind Australian photographer Serena Hodson‘s impressive portfolio. I love the touch of humor in every portrait as well as the way she’s able to capture each dog’s unique personality!
The following post is brought to you by Hugs Pet Products. We?re very paw-ticular about our partners and only feature those we think are top dog.
I love the story behind Hugs Pet Products‘ name: owners Katie and Chad Brewer wanted to celebrate the boundless love and lifetime of excited greetings (and puppy hugs) they received from their pets by giving back in the form of innovative pet products. Katie and Chad believe that “at the heart of every hug is love,” which is how they approach the design and manufacturing of their modern pet gear!
Their passion for pets shows in their original product designs (which they also manufacture and distribute). I mean, hello, how awesome is that apple-shaped, tooth-scrubbing chew toy? To show just how much they love all furry companions, they’re offering your pooch 25% off everything in their shop now through September 10th. Simply enter the discount code HUGS25 at checkout.
We couldn’t resist rounding up a few of our favorite Hugs products, of course! 1: Potty Paws 2: Chew Core 3: Hydro Bone 4: Tee Bone 5: Better Tether 6: Silicone Dog Treat Pan 7: Gel Pet Mat
