Companion Rack

Companion Rack in for humans beds furniture

The Companion Rack by Gavin Coyle is a playful interpretation of a wire form magazine rack. Gavin cleverly captures the ritual of a dog fetching the paper by designing the rack to hold one rolled up newspaper in it’s “mouth.” I adore his lighthearted yet sophisticated approach to design!

Hamish McBeth

Hamish McBeth in collars leads

Hamish McBeth designs and manufacturers a stunning line of drool-worthy leather dog collars. Their luxury collars and handcrafted leashes are designed to be elegant and timeless because Hamish McBeth believes that canine fashion comes and goes, but style lasts forever. I happen to agree. My top pick would have to be this Savile Row leather collar that’s designed to reflect the skills of a great tailor. I can already picture how smart my dog would look in this!

PetHub Link ScruffTag Collar

PetHub Link ScruffTag Collar in collars leads

PetHub has a very cool approach to smart ID tags with their Link ScruffTag Collar. Each collar comes with a unique web address and QR code that can be scanned with any smart phone. The way it works is simple! Someone finds your pet. First, they try the phone number and if you’re not answering, they can scan the collar with their phone or type in the web address listed on the tag. What shows up are any details you’ve chosen to enter about your pet, including other emergency contacts (spouse, neighbor, friend, vet, pet sitter, doggie daycare, etc.), important medications, dietary needs, and anything else you think someone rescuing your pet know. You can update your pet’s info on pethub.com (for free!) as often as needed to ensure your pet’s records are current.

Jonathan Lo is the principal and founder of J3 Productions, a multidisciplinary design studio and consultancy servicing lifestyle, fashion, decor, and retail. Through his blog, Jonathan celebrates good design of any kind, and takes the time to appreciate some everyday things that often go overlooked. He lives and works in Southern California with his adorable rescue named Pepe. I’m always excited to catch a glimpse of this charismatic pooch on Happy Mundane, so I was over the moon to get the full Scoop on Jonathan and Pepe.

Fifi Runn

Fifi Runn in collars leads

If you’re in the market for a fashionable dog collar with an urban edge, the new line of collars from Fifi Runn are going to make you jump up and down. I love the way they capture all that was awesome about the late 80s and early 90s in a totally rad way. Yes, I just said totally rad. I’m completely nuts over the What Would Lassie Do? collar that has me in stitches, and the Electric 80′s collar that reminds me of the graphics on my childhood skateboard. Bonus: Fifi Runn donates 10% of their proceeds to a different dog charity every month. Rad and generous. Sweet!
