Cursed with near-perfect vision, I’ve always wanted to wear glasses because, come on, they’re awesome. Contact lenses, though? No, thank you. The idea of purposefully sticking something into my eye wigs me so far out I’m in another time zone. But, you brave souls who do wear contacts, check this out: It’s a little doggie lens case. Five bucks at Kikkerland. Totally worth poking yourself in the eye for.

Well, it’s supposedly spring, but we’ve had freezing temperatures, grey skies, and even snow — SNOW — here in North Carolina this week. The lack of sun and warmth, though, has been easier to stomach now that I’ve found Weather Puppy. This new (and currently free!) weather app greets you with an adorable puppy face every time you open it, no matter how dismal the forecast.

If you’re connected with us on Facebook, you might remember that we posted there about the Yellow Dog Project a while back. The Yellow Dog Project is a brilliant campaign created to designate dogs who need a little more space when they’re out and about — dogs who are leash reactive, sick, elderly, recovering from surgery, or who maybe just don’t like other pups all up in their grille. The smart and simple idea is that dogs who need their space wear a yellow ribbon on their leash or collar — and if you and your dog see a pup sporting yellow ribbon, politely step away and give that pooch the space he needs.
Of course, this brilliant system only works if people know about it, so we’re stoked to see the Yellow Dog Project getting some attention in places like USA Today. Yellow Dog’s website has handy-handy fliers you can print to hand out (or tack up at local doggie hangouts) to help spread the word. Check ‘em out!

I’m a little picky when it comes to T-shirts — the only ones I feel truly comfortable in are American Apparel cotton tees. So how did I miss that American Apparel has a full line of dog stuff? (We actually featured one of their tees back a couple years ago. Again, duh.) The American Apparel pet line features all your favorite AA hoodies and tees, but designed just for your pooch. In addition, they’ve got sweet denim beds and collars and leashes to complete the collection. Check it all out at American Apparel. (If nothing else, their adorable array of doggie models is sure to brighten your day.)

Brace yourselves, because there’s about to be some serious cuteness up in here. Have you seen Aya Sakai’s Instagram feed? She’s a Tokyo mom who posts daily photos of her son and his best friend, his French bulldog Muu. Sakai captures the pair watching TV, cruising the neighborhood, and snuggled up together in slumber. It’s like a daily cuteness contest between the kid and the dog, and guess who wins? We do.
