Bark Out Loud: Do You Throw Parties for Your Dog? in other

This image has been floating around the Internet recently and, coupled with a few articles I’ve read about $5000+ dog weddings and the like, it got me thinking. Sure, I put a silly hat on Wrigley when he turned one and I even made him homemade treats from scratch. Oh, and we’ve shared some DIY doggy birthday party ideas before. But, I want to hear from you!

Do you throw birthday parties for your dog? Would you or have you hosted a dog wedding?

  1. Hell no, I don’t throw parties for my dog! I like my dog very much, but I don’t think it’s normal to treat animal as children.
A dog “wedding” is the most ridiculous expression there is!

  2. Every day is a party for my dogs.

  3. Yes, we have had birthday party for our Dachshund Wally, but it’s more of an excuse for the humans to get together:)

  4. Absolutely, I have been celebrating my pooch’s birthdays (Pepsi & Pepper) for years, which lead me to starting my own business (Pampered Pooch Parties). Its so much fun, and the pooch’s are part of the family, so why not :)

  5. I´m so pleased I am not the only person thinking about having a dog party!
It would be great to see all the doggy friends running around our garden together. Wonñt do the lawn much good, but oh well.
Must get around to it this summer.

  6. Yes, I most certainly do! It wasn’t as extravagant as the link provided in the blog post, but I invited a bunch of my pup’s doggy friends (whose owners were friends of mine) and celebrated my Poey turning 2 years old! It’s always great to socialize your pup, why not throw a party when you want to! :)

I’ve had birthday parties for both of my dogs. We did one once at the dog park which was quite the hit. Can;t say we’ve ever had a wedding though, not sure any dogs out there are good enough for my poopsies ;)
