I hinted last week on Facebook and Twitter that there was something very, very exciting in the pipeline in collaboration with P.L.A.Y.. Well, the time has come Dog Milkers! I’m thrilled to announce that we’ve teamed up with P.L.A.Y. to offer a giveaway for pet lovers and creative folks alike. Together we’re offering one lucky person (and their favorite furry companion) the opportunity to design a one-of-a-kind pet bed!
Beginning today and running through June 29th, you can submit your very own drawing, photo, rendering, sketch, or inspiration board to Design@Petplay.com for a chance to see your creation come to life. Once all the entries have been received, voters will have a chance to narrow them down to the top five. The ultimate grand champion supreme AKA the winner will be selected by a panel of judges, after which they and their fur kid will receive their very own one-of-a-kind pet bed from P.L.A.Y. featuring the design they submitted! Runners up will also receive prizes from P.L.A.Y., including beds and accessories.

Rules: To enter, email your submission to Design@Petplay.com. All entries must be received by June 29th, 2012. Voting will occur on P.L.A.Y.?s Facebook page from July 3, 2012 ? July 13, 2012. Neroko is a Finnish design studio that was born out of “a great love for dogs and a passion for sustainable Finnish design”, which is to say that Neroko and Dog Milk are two peas in a pod. Their modern pet line includes solid birch beds and “habitats”, stackable ceramic bowls and birch food containers, and even natural jute dog toys! (And how cute is that little dog sculpture?)
One of the biggest challenges I face as a dog owner, besides vet bills (ouch) and ticks (grosssss), is finding cool modern dog beds and accessories that fit with my home’s decor. I don’t do ruffles, and I don’t do cutesy. I want fresh, clean, and sophisticated. I get really excited when I see options like the Chimère line by French design company Bloom Room that debuted recently at Milan Design Week 2012. Why can’t all dog stuff be this cool?
