
Mijo & Bambi is a San Francisco-based small pet company that makes dog apparel from mostly organic, remnant, and/or recycled fabrics for toy breed dogs. Each piece is made locally in downtown San Francisco. Three percent of each purchase is donated to animals in need.

Although the battle for total acceptance is far from over, it is wonderful to see that more people are starting to accept the graying boundaries of what defines a family unit. I was excited when I discovered that Best in Show, one of my favorite San Francisco pet stores, had developed a private label line with products that celebrate and honor one type of modern family we’re seeing today.

Made to order, each harness is created from British textile designer, Emily Bond’s rustic printed linens and has an adjustable Velcro fastening. The Hydrant is the Etsy shop of Lindsay Shostal where she sells her handmade collars, leashes, and most recently doggie legwarmers, all with a whimsical almost storybook theme.
