After complaints from my husband that our dogs’ treats were taking over our pantry (it’s kinda true), I decided it was high time to do something about all those boxes and bags of goodies. I knew I wanted treat jars that looked good — something I could proudly display on my counter — and didn’t cost a lot. With those two rules in place, I ultimately decided to just get a bit crafty and make my own. And you know what? These DIY etched glass treat jars are awesome! And easy! And totally customizable! Wanna make your own? I’ll show you!
The following post is brought to you by Fun Time Dog Shop. We’re very paw-ticular about our partners and only feature those we think are top dog.
Remember The 13 Project we wrote about last week? Well, if you’re looking for an easy way to get involved and support rescue dogs, Fun Time Dog Shop is the place for you! Not only do they have a huge collection of awesome dog products and healthy treats, but 100% of the proceeds of every purchase goes directly to a rescue organization — of your choice! How amazing is that??
They carry a lot of our favorite products and brands (Molly Mutt, Nina Ottosson, Jax & Bones — oh my!), so now you can do a good deed and get your paws on some stylish dog accessories. Win-win! Here are a few of our faves: 1. Dog Tornado Puzzle by Nina Ottosson 2. Silicone Travel Bowl 3. Salsa Plush Toys 4. Molly Mutt Dog Bed Duvets 5. Happy Horse Rope Toy by Jax & Bones 6. Orbee-Tuff Mazee 7. Fruitables Skinny Minis
BarkBox is a paid subscription service that delivers a box of modern dog goodies (toys, treats, leashes, etc.) to your door every month based on your dog’s size, age, and breed. Which, for a
hermit online shopper like me, is pretty much the bees knees. Bonus? 10% of all proceeds go to local rescue groups and shelters!
Upcycling – I hate the word but love the concept. I’m always concerned with how much trash and waste I produce, so I get excited when things are recycled and reused rather than whisked off to landfills. Eco-friendly company Better Buddies (co-created by General Hospital star Julie Marie Berman) recycles old yoga mats and turns them into placemats for dogs and cats. The mats undergo a rigorous sanitation process (and if you’ve ever done a hot yoga class, you know that’s important) and cut into colorful dishwasher-safe and non-skid food mats. To that awesome idea, I say: Namaste. (Better Buddies also donates 10% of profits to the Best Friends Society’s Guardian Angel program, so they’re doing good two times over!)
