From the Bauhaus to the Beamer, I’m a huge fan of German design. The folks over at German company Cloud7 have put their collective finger on what so many designers from their country have espoused: the importance of eye-catching, clean, functional design. Cloud7′s line of doggie wares (featuring bowls, beds, toys, and pillows) is the newest entry on my list of Favorite German Things (right up there with their chocolate cake).
Art director, video director, and artist Nagi Noda created these incredible “hair hats” a few years back, but I’m still completely crazy over them. Using animals as her inspiration, Nagi sculpted hair molds into fabulous and over-the-top works of art. Her work was seen as so brilliant that Lady Gaga commissioned a hair hat of her very own, making artist Nagi Noda a hair sculpting sensation. Our Dog Milk favorites? The hair hat dogs of course!
Tracey Long is an freelance illustrator and artist from Hereford, England. In her Etsy profile, Tracey states she’s inspired by “words, stories, poems and very tall tall tales” — which makes sense, as the characters in her pencil and watercolor illustrations all look like they’re right smack in the middle of some kind of wonderful story.
This holiday fabric by New Mom Designs playfully depicts a hardworking team of dogs preparing for the holidays. I love the way the cool graphic print and modern color scheme keep this fabric from being too cutesy. These Christmas ornaments by British ceramic designer Reiko Kaneko are utterly brilliant! They’re designed to show what your dog’s reflection would look like if he were sniffing an ornament, which is something I can’t seem to stop my dog from doing. Oh, how I would love to have a tree full of these! I think I’ll have a custom ornament made for next year.
