Thwap is a cute dog shop that makes vintage neckwear for the modern dog. How very vintage-modern of them! Based in San Francisco, CA, shop owner Jeannine Giordan hand makes each piece using only the coolest pre-owned men’s neckties. She also uses the cutest doggy models in the area. Loose Leashes
Photographer Ron Schmidt’s dog-centric photography is called “Loose Leashes,” and you can purchase these adorable and inspiring prints.

Jamboree is a concept dog hammock by designer Ilya Fridman that aims to help the environment and keep your home clean at the same time.

Made of old rubber flip flops connected using old clothesline, the bed is bouncy and comfortable – and keeps those old summer shoes from ending up in the landfill. Not only that, but the bed itself subtly collects stray or loose dog hairs using static electricity. That way, the dog sheds on the bed instead of on your rug, furniture, floors, and clothing. The bed can easily be disassembled and cleaned. Definitely an interesting concept – I’d like to see this in action!

What if your dog’s waste could literally end up smelling like flowers? What if it could help the environment? They came up with the idea food create dog food that contains seeds so that when your dog goes to the bathroom on grass or soil, it plants seeds that grow into flowers. Miles and Aimee are the masterminds behind Atomic Attic, an incredible Etsy shop chock full of gorgeous vintage items. Based on their love for “giving old, unusable things a new, fresh look,” Miles and Aimee have created a line of upcycled pet beds made from vintage suitcases, and bases from chairs and tables.

I’ve seen quite a few pet beds made from vintage suitcases, but the style, creativity, and craftsmanship behind Atomic Attic’s collection far exceeds them all. Each bed comes with a removable, triple stitched, machine washable fluffy cushion for cleaning convenience.

It looks like most of the Atomic Attic beds available are large enough for small and medium sized dogs, which makes sense taking into account that most vintage suitcases are quite small. In other words, sorry big dogs, these aren’t for you. And if you don’t see exactly what your looking for, custom pieces are available upon request and generally take about two weeks to complete.

Designer Tom Davie had eight old soda crates sitting around so he decided to make them in to unique dog beds. He was careful to keep the integrity of the original crates intact as much as possible. I love how there are handles on the sides for easy transport. They’re all about 18″ long, so best for smaller dogs. Is your dog more of a Pepsi or 7-Up kinda pet?
