Neue Galerie presents a new brand, Neue Hund, a line of chic canine couture and luxe accessories inspired by the museum’s mascot, a chocolate miniature Schnauzer named Milly von Barksky (the model). The line was conceived by museum director Renée Price, who travels the world to assemble the finest accessories for dogs and their owners, made by some of the most talented designers. Every item incorporates the principles of Vienna 1900 design: a refined aesthetic, exquisite materials, and superior craftsmanship. In other words, these are for the most distinguished and discerning of doggies.

The Hund Travel Carrier is made from hand-sewn chocolate brown calf-skin with comfortable hand-stitched leather handles, detachable woven shoulder strap, and nickel-plated brass hardware. Suitable for pets up to 20 lbs. Produced by R. Horn’s Wien.

Do you use your regular sponge to clean your pet’s bowl? Guilty.

Don’t ever forget which sponge you use to clean your dog’s bowl again with these bone-shapes sponges!

This week, Martha Stewart Pets officially launched! The line is exclusively available at PetSmart
. Featuring Martha’s signature red and turquoise colors, the collection comprises a wide variety of products, including grooming and bathing supplies, collars and leashes, bedding, dining, toys, and waste management — over 100 products in all!
I got kind of excited when I saw this because now I can get a dog accessory that also matches my teapot — even poop bags! While I’m not much of a crafter or chef, I enjoy the Martha Stewart line of products. I think that they’re clean, modern and simple and always functional, so I was very excited to find out about this partnership.
Here are some more official details about the collection:

The new Molly Mutt Clean products are designed to help you clean your dog and your dog’s bed!

The first three products in the Clean line include:
Fresh Dog Bed Freshener: You probably already know how stinky your dog’s bed can get after a while. If you don’t have time to wash it, you can spritz it with this freshener to remove — not cover — the odors. Geranium essential oils naturally repel flea and ticks, and lavender essential oils help calm dogs while adding a fresh bedding scent.
Wash Dog Shampoo: Wash Dog Shampoo safely cleanses your dog’s coat and naturally deodorizes without drying skin. Rosemary and peppermint create a clean, fresh scent, and the essential oils are naturally anti-bacterial.
Soft Dog Coat Conditioner: Soft Dog Coat Conditioner detangles and conditions your pup’s coat for a healthy looking shine and soothed skin. Soft uses naturally anti-bacterial rosemary and peppermint essential oils for a clean, fresh scent.
Molly Mutt Clean meet the standards of natural as set by the Natural Products Association (NPA) and are free of sulfates, parabens, artificial colors and synthetic fragrances. All products from the Clean line are pH-balanced to be gentle on dogs’ sensitive skin – even puppies. Molly Mutt Clean products are made locally in California and are sustainably made and packaged in bottles made of PET with a recycle code of 1, which is the most readily recycled bottle material and has the highest conversion rate.

We used to have a gray rubber mitt brush, but somehow it got lost in the move. We only realized this because we went looking for it the other day. Looks like it’s time to get another one. I like this Ugroom Rubber Curry Brush
because it has a nice handle and is a fun, bright color.

For over 25 years, family-owned business SallyeAnder has been creating handmade soaps and skin care products. The brand was originally developed when Gary and Karen Austin needed to find a solution for their son’s allergies to bath products, but soon expanded to sensitive skin and acne products, bug bite soothing products, and even grass stain removers. Now, they’ve moved into pet products. As you all know, my dogs have crazy allergies from bumps to flakes to hot spots to just about everything.

I don’t have a lawn (yet) but if I did I would definitely need something like this Dog Spot Eliminator. Every time I take Beans outside our apartment, he goes in the same spot and there are yellow or brown patches of dead grass, called burns.
The Dog Spot Eliminator doesn’t work right away, it takes about 6 to 7 days to see results. It neutralizes the nitrogen and naturally supplies nutrients back into the grass to help it grow back greener and stronger. You can pre-treat, spot treat, or use it as a lawn fertilizer if there isn’t a specific spot that your pet likes to go. According to Scott DeWaide, president of The Organic Farm Store, it will cut down on future burning by about 60-70% and his customers love it. Plus, it’s completely organic, it’s safe for both your kids and pets.
In addition to a product like this, you can also use a hose to water down the area immediately after your pet urinates in order to flush and dilute the urine.
Have you ever used this product? Do you have any other tips to share for preventing or treating doggie lawn spots?

I am sure you have heard me many times already talk about my dog’s frustrating allergy and dry skin problems. Well, about 2 months ago, we bought Nature’s Logic North Atlantic Sardine Oil
, which has been a great addition to our dogs’ food. They love it, and even thought Beans still has some dry skin, I think adding the oil has made their coats a lot softer and smoother. The only thing is you’re supposed to keep it refrigerated, which makes it harder to remember it every day!
