Cooling Bandanna by Outward Hound

Cooling Bandanna by Outward Hound in clothing

It’s hot out there. My dogs can only walk about half the distance they could a few months ago. I stumbled on the Cool-It cooling bandanna from Outward Hound. You soak it in cold water for 15 to 30 minutes before venturing outside. It contains non-toxic polymer crystals that absorb up to 30 times their weight and claims to help keep your dog cool for several hours. It comes in three sizes, too.

Interesting, huh? I wonder if this would really help my pups stay cool outside in this heat.

  1. I tried something similar a few years ago (although NOT the same product). Big fail. Better to carry water and accept that they can’t walk as far if the heat is intense.

  2. We have these and if you have cold water nearby, they are AWESOME! We get it set up a few hours before the dog park and throw it on him or pop it in the leftover ice from the cooler if we’re out and about.

  3. yeah, great idea to keep dogs cool. After reading this article i will definitely try this.

  4. Infact, a simple but great idea.I will implement in this summer coz my dog gets really hot.
