Detroit Dog Rescue Series by Lisa Cervone

Lisa Cervone contacted me recently to share this series of portraits she photographed for Detroit Dog Rescue, the first no-kill rescue in the metro Detroit area. Mostly pitties and pit mixes, the images are at once heartbreaking and full of hope: while their individual stories are horrifying (and sadly, a common occurrence) many of these previously-abused dogs have since found forever homes.

You can see more images of these beautiful dogs here and/or grab a print or two from Lisa’s Etsy shop!

I’d be much, much more highly inclined to purchase these awesome prints if some of the money went to the rescue animals. Even if it’s just a portion of the sales.
I should have mentioned that these were originally shown in a gallery exhibition last year, where all of the proceeds went to Detroit Dog Rescue. Lisa has also donated countless hours already, not to mention her talents, and continues to do so. She even put together a PSA announcement for Detroit Dog Rescue, which is available for viewing on her site.
That’s the best part of the whole story! Way to go, Lisa!
You’re right! I’ll update the post!
Rescue stories are the best, thanks for sharing.
It is sad that DDR will soon be investigated for misappropriation of funds. They are not at all what they claim to be.
