Good Boy, Good Puppy Lamps

Sooo…. this showed up in my inbox last week. Obviously, I wouldn’t dare deprive you of such subversive artistry. Plus, c’mon, it’s pretty dang funny, right?

The Good Boy and Good Puppy lamps are by a UK artist and designer who simply goes by the moniker “Whatshisname“. Designed for the Art Below exhibition in London, they were ultimately banned for being “too offensive”. They’re available in limited editions of 100 (Good Boy) and 200 (Good Puppy). Mostly, the fact that you have to step on a turd (something I generally try my utmost to avoid) to turn the light on makes me giggle.
What do you guys think? Funny? Offensive? Can you think of a space where these lamps might actually work?

They were BANNED?! That makes a whole lot of no sense.. Totally not even a little offensive.. if anything, silly and unexpected. Wow. Must have been a super dry exhibit.
Right?? I can’t believe they were banned either!
These look great, shame that some people don´t have a sense of humour!
Agreed!
c’mon these are FUCKING AWESOME!!!!!! i would totally buy one for my house……but i am scared to even google how much they are.
Funny like hell!! I want two!!
;-DD
These are AWESOME! I would totally buy one of these and put it in my home for all to see!
I think it’s very funny, just the kind of decoration I could use at my house! Too bad some folks have no sense of humor!
Word.
A must have for any “cool” dog person. I’d want to put mine in the big window on the front of my house – like in “A Christmas Story” putting the leg w/fish net stockings!
