There’s nothing girly about the sporty Argo Petascope carriers by TEAFCO. They are made of nylon and feature mesh windows on all sides, a water-resistant base, and the small size is airline-approved. They also come in medium and five fun colors. I’m really digging these, but more importantly, they look cool enough for my little Beans.
The Cubix Dog Mansion by German company Best Friend’s Home is probably the most modern dog house I have ever seen. It is designed to pay homage to the Bauhaus style. The raised roof and rectangular windows are nice architectural details. It’s made from quality varnished wood and features break-proof window glass that is resistant to all types of weather conditions. Available sizes include small, medium, and extra large (yay!). This pet palace is manufactured and shipped from Germany, so I’m guessing overseas shipping ain’t be cheap, but — hey — neither is this dog house.
I am sure you have heard me many times already talk about my dog’s frustrating allergy and dry skin problems. Well, about 2 months ago, we bought Nature’s Logic North Atlantic Sardine Oil, which has been a great addition to our dogs’ food. They love it, and even thought Beans still has some dry skin, I think adding the oil has made their coats a lot softer and smoother. The only thing is you’re supposed to keep it refrigerated, which makes it harder to remember it every day!
Alite Designs is a new San Francisco-based design company. Their goal is to create products that help people get outside and have fun, especially with their dogs. They want to help take the hassle out of walking your dog, so you can just grab your leash and go have fun with your pooch. Plus, they love design and want to step up the design aesthetic for dog products and move beyond traditional fire hydrant and bone decorations. Amen!
The Gourdo from Ruffwear is — well — shaped like a gourd. Although now that I see them all grouped together like this they kinda look like multicolored sperm. Anyway, it is made from natural latex rubber, a renewable and sustainable resource and the black one contains 30% reclaimed-rubber.
Lately, I’ve really been into braided and knotted collars and leashes. I don’t know what it is, but they sure look nice. I love these Sailor’s Knot leads from Mascot. How cute are the matching collars with the bone buckle?
I have to admit, I have not invested in any tracking devices for my dog. I do have those $8 collar tags on each dog with their name a phone number in case of emergency. However, I’ve often wondered if I should make the extra investment in a special ID tag.
blanketID is a special 15mm x 25mm tag that is individual to your pet. You purchase a tag, then go on to the blanketID website to add details and photos of your pets under your unique blanketID tag number. It’s waterproof, scratch-proof, and lightweight fitting right on your dog’s collar like a name tag. Plus, the designs sure beat those ugly metal tags from the machines.
If your pet gets lost, simply report your pet missing and blanketID.com automatically sends a broadcast email to local SPCA, animal hospitals, shelters, other local blanketID members. Everyone will be able to access a full description and photos of your pet. If you find a pet with a blanketID tag you can log on and enter its blanketID tag number to find its owner.
Have you ever considered a pet ID service such as this or do you use the standard tags you get from the “big box” pet store?
