Well, it’s supposedly spring, but we’ve had freezing temperatures, grey skies, and even snow — SNOW — here in North Carolina this week. The lack of sun and warmth, though, has been easier to stomach now that I’ve found Weather Puppy. This new (and currently free!) weather app greets you with an adorable puppy face every time you open it, no matter how dismal the forecast.

Shaving designs into hair isn’t a new idea, but applying the technique to dogs? Now that’s something I’ve never seen before! According to groomers Jessica Allegri and Amanda Marshall, who came up with the idea during a quiet day at their shop Groomers on the Green, these temporary “tattoos” or “pooch patches” do not hurt (except your dog’s pride, maybe). The whole process — shaving the design with clippers — takes about an hour and lasts up to 14 weeks. Of course, this leads us to our Bark Out Loud question this month:
Would you give your dog a “pooch patch” or temporary hair tattoo? If yes, what design would you choose?

I LOVE THESE. If you’re looking for a fun and unique gift idea for yourself (hey, why not?) or your dog-obsessed friend, consider one of these felt doggies from Eleni Creative! Each fuzzy pup is hand-stitched, hand-stuffed, and designed to look just like your beloved Fido. You can even have multiples made into a hanging mobile! Aaaaamazing.

Twenty years ago, New Jersey-based artist Tara Metzler rescued a pit bull named Novia from an abusive situation. Since then, she has dedicated her time and talents to animal welfare organizations and rescue groups, most recently launching a collection of PSA-style posters to bring awareness and advocate for this wonderful (and misunderstood) breed.

Dog Milkers! We have a very, very, VERY exciting announcement to make today. Remember our post about the Donation by Design tags from blanketID? The ones where designers create a tag and a portion of the sales goes to the designer’s charity of choice? Yeah, that one! Well, we’ve been sitting on this info for a little while now, so you can imagine our excitement at finally being able to spill the beans. Drum roll, please…
We are thrilled to introduce the Dog Milk Donation by Design Collection for blanketID!
