It would be great for cats, particularly when we go out on a day or weekend trip. It could also be useful for portion control while someone else is sitting for the "chubby" family dog (because you know that guests and sitters tend to indulge our pets when we are away.) But not for regular feedings. I want my pets to know that I am the source of food. I'm selfish like that. I’ll be honest, I wouldn’t cry if someone sent this as a gift! I think it's actually healthier in some ways, because they eat when they are hungry and don't binge. The design is very nice, but it's HUGE.
