I can’t think of a better way to kick off the week than with these stunning images by Minneapolis-based pet photographer Karin Newstrom. If these photos don’t put a smile on your face, I don’t know what will!

Karin’s impressive portfolio is a blend of on-location and studio sessions with pets of all shapes and sizes (there are even a few horses and cats in the mix). Oh, and a donkey! I’m a fan of her location work especially, particularly because I know how tricky lighting can be in those situations. Do you have a preference for studio or location portraits?

  1. The “on-location” portraits are much more interesting for me. We can see the pets in their environment, know their habits and sometimes their owners. Thanks for sharing these beautiful photos :)

I think I’m a fan of both studio and on-location shots equally. Sometimes a gorgeous studio shot of a gorgeous dog can just take your breath away (or make you smile and laugh!). That said, the shot of the Weim up there is gorgeous. I love how his color almost matches the couch… awesome composition.

  3. Karin’s photos are always fabulous. Def one of my favorite dog photographers!
