This Thornproof Designer Dog Coat and Deerstalker Hat from Love My Dog makes me yearn for a UK winter. I wonder if this guy’s name is Holmes or Watson!
The traditional country cloth for this designer dog coat is woven in Scotland and softened with a cozy warm sherpa lining. It has adjustable Velcro on the neck and body giving your dog a perfect fit. The tailored belt and leather buttons complete the fine detailing, making the Thornproof tweed an exquisite contemporary dog coat. The Deerstalker Dog Hat is made of 100% wool. Complete the stylish yet cute look with this designer dog hat to match the Thornproof Tweed Dog Coat. Comes with matching straps that loop around the ears and chin to keep the hat in place.
Getting chilly on your side of the globe? It sure is here…

My ears perk up like Beans’ (^-^) when I hear a company name with the word “modern” in it. The Modern Canine does not disappoint.
An eco-friendly company, The Modern Canine recycles luxury fabrics from fashion and interior designers, and all pieces are cut individually to minimize waste. Each coat and sweater is uniquely crafted locally in the Bay Area with high-quality materials, such as wool, cashmere, organic cotton, and recycled Polartec fleece. New fabrics and colors are added to the line frequently.
My favorite is the Signature Coat — the coat that started The Modern Canine. It’s a wool coat is made of European wool (yellow, orange and green) with a printed cotton jersey lining. I’m really digging the green, which is strange because I’m not normally a green person…I wonder if Beans likes green? He probably does, but he’s not a big fan of bows.

I stumbled on George while wandering the aisles of the New York International Gift Fair last week.
George is a San Francisco-based company that makes cute, preppy and colorful pet products. Started by Bobby Wise and Lyndon Lambert, and their adopted a wire hair fox terrier named George, after they had the desire to create well-designed dog products for their pet. Now, they have two shops in California!
Remember when you got that big, fat September issue of your favorite magazine in the mail? The Fall fashion one? I do. I would spend hours pouring over it, flipping through it’s glossy pages of deliciously expensive clothing, happy over-18 models posing as schoolgirls, wishing I could look like that when going back to school. Those days might be over for me, but that feeling I get each August when I begin to think about the Fall has never gone away. It’s almost a feeling of rebirth and excitement. But, I digress…really what I want to talk about here is Fall fashion — for dogs.
Now, I’m not one to dress up my dog in Juicy Couture and Ed Hardy, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t fashion trends to take note of — especially for the modern pup. Beans and I got together to peruse the Interwebs and find some of the best Fall trends for the modern dog this year. Think of this as your Fall fashion issue of doggie Vogue.
Doesn’t he look excited? It might be because I said “Fall Fashion” or maybe it’s because I’m holding his favorite ball…
MODRuff is a Canadian company founded by Brent Baillie, a sculptor and his wife Phon. After not finding what they were looking for on the market, they decided to create a modern dog coat for Rocco, their adorable Manchester Terrier.
MODRuff’s products are high-performance, hand-sculpted and handmade. The material is similar to leather, but it is 100% waterproof, breathable and flexible, biodegradable and you can even order glow-in-the-dark.
