Their shop is full of adorable dogs adorning colorful leather iPhone and iPad cases, wallets, wristlets, pencil cases, charms, and keyfobs. Their creations are seriously among the cutest things I’ve ever seen, right up there with Ryan Gosling and bushbabies.

Designer Lisa Bengtsson recently designed this remarkable line of Dachshund wallpapers, textiles, and posters exclusively for Save The Children. Known as one of Sweden’s most prominent designers, Lisa’s Tillsammans Collection features dachshunds from around the world. Their different hats and hairstyles symbolize their different nationalities.

Hijiri K. Shepherd is an incredibly talented graphic designer and letterpress printer whose premier print, Live What You Love, took the online world by storm. Since then, Hijiri has gone on to create her own line of cheerful letterpress stationary available in her shop, Heartfish Press and was recently featured in the very cool book, Impressive as well as a new Chronicle Books favorite of mine, Everything Is Going to Be OK
. From her design and letterpress studio in Brooklyn, Hijiri blogs daily about her life as a freelance designer and often shares photos and anecdotes about her business partner and adorable Miniature Dachshund, Maia. These two just ooze with sweetness and enough positive energy to light up their entire New York borough.

Out on one of our daily walks, Miles and I recently stumbled upon what we referred to as “The Dachshund House.” Right over the Oakland/Berkeley border is this charming home adorned with several constructed dachshunds. It’s truly a visual treat for all those who have the fortune to pass by.

Last weekend I had the privilege of attending Golden Gate Field’s Annual Wiener Races presented by Pet My Wiener. Every year Dachshunds from all over the San Francisco Bay area are invited to compete for one thousand dollars in cash prizes and the sought after title of the fastest Dachshund in the Wiener Nationals. Believe me, this event was every bit as charming as it sounds! In total, 108 Dachshunds competed in 10 heats for the coveted prize. Each racer brought with him/her two participating owners, one to start the race with, and one to holler and jump at the finish line.
