Dog Valentine’s Day Roundup

Well, February is upon us, which means we’re being assaulted with hearts and Cupids and “every kiss begins with Kaayyyyyy” at every turn. Even though I’m married and in love and all that jazz, Valentine’s Day usually makes me want to kick things. When you think about it, though, we all have the best Valentines around — our pups! I mean, they actually show us what love is all about, and they don’t care a thing about cards and roses and diamonds. We’ve rounded up some great Valentine’s Day items for you and your pup.

Clockwise from top left: Organic crocheted ball by Hip Doggie from Baxter Boo, pop hearts dog collar by Up Country from Muttropolis, conversation hearts squeaky toys, at Petsmart, Ramona heart dog bed from Doggie Vogue, Archie the Dog letterpress notecards at PaperSource, “mom” dog charm by Doggles from Baxter Boo, Red Dingo stainless steel heart tag at PupLife, talking rose dog toy from Artful Pups.

Flash Gordon Designs

Flash Gordon Designs was founded in 2011 by brothers Jeff and Jason Gordon and their dog Flash. Their mission is to create custom pet id tags and charms that are durable, unique, and great-looking. In my opinion, they can put a check mark next to all three. Their id tags have a major wow factor and a unique spin I can’t say I’ve seen before.

Their luxury collars and handcrafted leashes are designed to be elegant and timeless because Hamish McBeth believes that canine fashion comes and goes, but style lasts forever. I happen to agree. My top pick would have to be this Savile Row leather collar that’s designed to reflect the skills of a great tailor. I can already picture how smart my dog would look in this!

Wagging Green Mod Dog

I was in a cute little dog store called Jake and Elwood’s House of Chews (located in New Hope, PA) last weekend and stumbled on the Wagging Green Mod Dog collection, a graphic-patterned black and white design made of ribbon and bamboo webbing. I was sooooo close to buying the whole shebang for Lulu.

Wagging Green is committed to reducing a pet’s eco footprint (as well as their own) and giving back by donating 5% of profits to important environmental issues. A portion of all profits from the Mod Dog collection goes to developing alternative energy sources.
