Flash Gordon Designs was founded in 2011 by brothers Jeff and Jason Gordon and their dog Flash. Their mission is to create custom pet id tags and charms that are durable, unique, and great-looking. In my opinion, they can put a check mark next to all three. Their id tags have a major wow factor and a unique spin I can’t say I’ve seen before.

Jeff, the designer behind Flash Gordon, uses 3D engineering software to create each tag and charm. The design is then customized for your pet and formed using sintered stainless steel with a bronze, antique bronze or gold-plated finish. Flash Gordon Designs has truly set themselves apart from the pack with their creative approach to pet id tags and charms. In fact, they’re so cool, I would probably wear one on a gold chain myself. I get so excited when I hear that two of my favorite brands are collaborating. This time, it’s blanketID and Mascot, who worked together to create a specially-designed range of ID tags that have the security of blanketID and the luck and charm of Mascot. PetHub has a very cool approach to smart ID tags with their Link ScruffTag Collar. Each collar comes with a unique web address and QR code that can be scanned with any smart phone. The way it works is simple! Someone finds your pet. First, they try the phone number and if you’re not answering, they can scan the collar with their phone or type in the web address listed on the tag. What shows up are any details you’ve chosen to enter about your pet, including other emergency contacts (spouse, neighbor, friend, vet, pet sitter, doggie daycare, etc.), important medications, dietary needs, and anything else you think someone rescuing your pet know. You can update your pet’s info on pethub.com (for free!) as often as needed to ensure your pet’s records are current.

Tagg – The Pet Tracker™ is a new wireless pet tracking device that uses GPS to pinpoint your dog’s location anywhere, anytime. If you’re like me, than your dog probably has about ten different collars. With this new program, any company or retailer can have their own custom-designed blanketID tag produced and the sales from tags and memberships from these special tags will target the selected non-profit organization.

For example, Sniff Dog Hotel created the tag above and chose Fences for Fido — an all-volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to improving the welfare and quality of life for dogs living outdoors — to be the beneficiary for funds raised from sales of this tag and on-going memberships.
