We first featured Maddie, the coonhound with impeccable balance, a little over a year ago, when she was off with companion Theron Humphrey on a documentary project across the United States. What have Maddie and Theron been up to since then? Well, as it turns out, they’ve been busy.
Brace yourselves, because there’s about to be some serious cuteness up in here. Have you seen Aya Sakai’s Instagram feed? She’s a Tokyo mom who posts daily photos of her son and his best friend, his French bulldog Muu. Sakai captures the pair watching TV, cruising the neighborhood, and snuggled up together in slumber. It’s like a daily cuteness contest between the kid and the dog, and guess who wins? We do.
Maddie the Coonhound’s Tumblr is one of those fantastic gems that make me so glad the internet exists (despite what it’s doing to our grammar, spelling, and level of collective discourse). I don’t know a whole lot about Maddie (besides that she has great balance and a lot of patience), but I think there’s a lot going on behind that detached, pensive gaze.
