After switching over from an Android to an iPhone recently, I can honestly say that one of the things I was most excited about was the seemingly endless array of cases available. Of course, being the crazy dog lady that I am, I had to see if I could find some canine-inspired cases — and find them, I did!
Jude Landry is a graphic designer and illustrator based in Mississippi and, well, I dig his style in a major way. When he’s not busy teaching graphic design at Mississippi State University, he’s creating silk-screened art prints, like this ridiculously awesome Bulldog! At the moment, this is his only dog-themed print, but I would LOVE to see his take on other breeds, wouldn’t you?? Meanwhile, this illustration is also available as an iPad case, iPhone case, and even a throw pillow!
You’ve no doubt heard of breed-specific legislation (which I’m not into at all), but what about breed-specific accessorizing? Sounds way more up my alley. The dog breeds we fancy say a lot about who we are, and the dog lovers over at Steadfast Friends know that advertising your breed loyalty can be a source of pride. They’ve got iPhone cases and (awesome!!!) temporary tattoos featuring silhouettes of a ton of dog breeds, from Airedales to Yorkies. And if mutts are your thing? Mixed breeds are represented too. Now you can flash your breed colors while helping to support dog-related charities.

Lab lovers: rejoice! There’s a smartphone case (or seven) designed just for you. It’s a Lab Thing has a collection of covers featuring their breed of choice, available in ten different phone models (finally, not just iPhones)! Of course, I would love to see them expand into other breeds, but I’m not complaining! I’ll embrace any modern doggy tech gear.
I spotted this super cute iPhone case at ICFF last month as part of the Designboom Mart. Available in 5 colors, each iPup case by Yun Seong Kim features a dog-shaped card holder designed to hold credit cards, metro passes, or even cash. And don’t worry, a special insert is included to protect your credit card’s magnetic strip! Brilliant, right? Now, if only I had an iPhone… *cough android user cough*
