It’s cold out there, y’all. Sometimes a pup needs a little extra protection from winter’s chill, and we here in the South know that nothing takes the edge off a frosty morning like a sherpa-lined wool coat — in plaid, of course. Billy Wolf Fine K9 Coatery‘s dog jackets are handmade in the USA from vintage, dead stock fabrics. They’re sophisticated and rootsy at the same time — designer Lyndsey Drago honed her skills at Ralph Lauren and Timberland — and their velcro closures make them easy to put on and remove. And if your pup is already warm enough but just needs to sport a bit of flair? Billy Wolf makes awesome bandanas, too. Check out the complete line at Billy Wolf.
The temperature has dropped, the snow is sticking, and winter is officially upon us! Daily walks are a must in this house, their importance only paralleled by the need to stay warm and dry. (I grew up in Arizona — being cold and wet is not an option!!) Smash and Wrigley have similarly intense feelings about being dry and cozy. So, when I spotted this water-resistant, fleece-lined jacket from FouFou Dog, I knew I’d found the perfect winter coat for these weather-sensitive pups. First, I can’t stop laughing at how ridiculously adorable this photo of Rocky the Maltese is. I mean really. Secondly, this is an awesome DIY idea!
Remember when you got that big, fat September issue of your favorite magazine in the mail? The Fall fashion one? I do. I would spend hours pouring over it, flipping through it’s glossy pages of deliciously expensive clothing, happy over-18 models posing as schoolgirls, wishing I could look like that when going back to school. Those days might be over for me, but that feeling I get each August when I begin to think about the Fall has never gone away. It’s almost a feeling of rebirth and excitement. But, I digress…really what I want to talk about here is Fall fashion — for dogs.
Now, I’m not one to dress up my dog in Juicy Couture and Ed Hardy, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t fashion trends to take note of — especially for the modern pup. Beans and I got together to peruse the Interwebs and find some of the best Fall trends for the modern dog this year. Think of this as your Fall fashion issue of doggie Vogue.
Doesn’t he look excited? It might be because I said “Fall Fashion” or maybe it’s because I’m holding his favorite ball…
