Pet Photography by Karin Newstrom

I can’t think of a better way to kick off the week than with these stunning images by Minneapolis-based pet photographer Karin Newstrom. If these photos don’t put a smile on your face, I don’t know what will!

Canada-based photographer Jesse Holland and her Boston Terrier Charlie make a cute couple! Jesse photographs some of the cutest dogs in Canada under the name Chasing Charlie (she does people too!).

Brittani sent me over some portraits she’s recently completed and I love her casual, fun approach to dog photography. I’m keen on the idea that the beauty and personality of our animals is often best captured in unexpected moments.

A while back, we posted about the incredible Amigo Dog Wheelchair concept designed by Nir Shalom. Not surprisingly, it was one of our most popular posts and generated a lot of great conversation about pets with disabilities who still live full, active, and — most importantly — happy lives! That’s why we were ecstatic to come across this photo series of Disabled Pets by Carli Davidson.

Sibling Rivalrie is the brainchild of three sisters living in three cities, competing for your affection, and creating sundry items for beautifying your life. Alice Au Quan, Cindy Au, and Winnie Au decided to join their sisterly forces to bring together a collection of beautiful dog-focused prints and postcards.

Arizona photographer Steven Sable‘s travels throughout the southwestern United States led him to some interesting acquaintances and a new personal mission. On the Navajo, Hopi, and Ute reservations he visited, Sable came across a multitude of “Rez Dogs” — stray dogs that live on the reservations without owners, veterinary care, or guaranteed food and shelter. Through his photographs of these dogs (which he calls the Rez Dog Biographies), Sable wants to draw awareness to the plight of the Rez Dogs and raise money for the care of the homeless pups that have touched, and sometimes broken, his heart.

Using handsome Labrador Retrievers (Snowy and Baily) as their models, photographers Joseph Dawson and Jonathan Paine recently shot this clever Mitchell & Ness campaign for The Chimp Store. While the utilization of dogs as models is by no means a new idea, I totally admire the fresh approach taken here, and the beautiful execution of these photos.

Philadelphia-based photographer Andrew Pinkham has been working on a series of 19th Century animal portraits, including some very fancy-looking hounds.
