I love that each portrait comes with its own tiny story, for example: “Charlie the Boston Terrier practices the trumpet every day after school, despite complaints from the neighbors. He aspires to be a great jazz musician one day.” How cute is that?

I discovered NYC-based artist Melinda Buie’s work through my friend Amy’s blog last week and I’ve been obsessed with it ever since! I was so blown away by her pet portraits, in fact, that my new life goal is to commission one of Wrigley. Until then, I’ll just admire all the pups already lucky enough to be in her portfolio — and dream of the perfect spot to hang Wrigley’s imaginary/future/totally-getting-one-one-day painting.
