Cute wiener dog decor alert!

Spotted these beauties over at Urban Outfitters. The problem is deciding who sleeps on the butt.

KLT:works founder Kristin Loffer Theiss is an artist, mother, college art instructor, and — fortunately for the rest of us — the creator of all kinds of adorable children’s products. Designing with the modern home and family in mind, KLT:works’ collection features puppy motifs appropriate for dog lovers of all ages.

Kristin’s modern dog drawings are originally created in thread using a “free motion” sewing technique. Once each drawing is complete, Kristin creates silk-screened versions of these stylish illustrations on a range of charming products. I’m especially taken by the Chasing Tails Puppy Mobile.

And don’t worry about feeling like you have to shrink yourself down to pint size just to squeeze into one of KLT:works oh-so-cute shirts. Both the Bull Dog Thread Tee and the Dog Thread Tee are available in adult sizes!

DesignStory, my new go-to site for great deals on modern home furnishings is currently running a sale on Ilmiriita textiles by Russian designer Johanna Kunelius. ”Ilmiriita” is a Finnish word for an open quarrel or brawl, but Johanna explains that it has several meanings for her. It partially represents a source of inspiration — her grandmother Ilmi and also reflects her own struggle as a designer between art and commercialism.

It all started on one of my daily walks in St. Petersburg. In the bustle of the streets, I watched as people and dogs passed by, the dogs taking their owners to a nearby park. But suddenly I saw something unforgettable: I laid my eyes on two eagles, with their eyes glowing, sitting on a perch and spreading their wings. The birds were kept as a tourist attraction and had already gathered a crowd of spectators. I could sense that an “ilmiriita” was about to start. All the while, a young man collected money from tourists who wanted to be photographed with the eagles. I headed back home, but carried the idea of “ilmiriita” with me.

Last week, Crypton launched three new designs by William Wegman, the Multi-Plex collection being my personal favorite. The pillows and bed feature the artist William Wegman’s signature designs, and Crypton’s built-in protection from stains and bacteria. They also contain a built-in moisture barrier that prevents liquids from penetrating the fabric.
