Modernist Cat

Yes, I said cat. However, Modernist Cat doesn’t JUST make cat furniture – they have a cute dog bed, too that doubles as an end table. Finally, something that would actually fit into my decor!

Huzzah, my friends, they’ve done it again. One of my very favoritest dog gear companies, Doca Pet, has released yet another fabulous modern design – the High Tea feeder. Just look at it! Isn’t it lovely? Even that Labrador there in the photo is gazing up above, as if even he knows that such great design can only be heaven-sent.

Do you remember our P.L.A.Y. bed giveaway? If you recall, Preston was the winner of the new P.L.A.Y. bed. His owner, Ken Decost, also made Preston a fancy wooden raised feeder, and after doing so, received so many compliments and requests that he decided to create a small side business out of it. I’m loving the two-tones of the wood – these are great designs! Best of luck, Ken!

I’m a big fan of raised feeders because they’re ergonomically better for your dog – especially if you’ve got a large breed. PetPerfect Feeders are made from custom carved 12-gauge metal, carved using a laser. Available in a variety of colors and options, you can even have your pet’s name carved in the sides. Use them outdoors, too! I love this idea, but I wish they had more of a font selection…

A while back I featured ModPet’s dog sofa and chaise, and now their lineup has significantly grown to include daybeds and even feeders.

Like Jaime’s house, my house is a mid-century modern, and my design tastes generally follow, tending toward crisp, clean lines and classic modern style. When it comes to my home, though, I like mixing in organic, rustic elements to enhance the space’s cozy quotient (that’s a technical term). These wooden dog feeders, made from reclaimed oak barn beams by Keystone Vintage Lumber, are just the sort of thing I’m into.

I’m completely in love with all of the fun products design by Go! Pet Design, but I’m particularly fond of their Vintage Style Ammo Box Pet Feeders. Each vintage style pet feeder is handmade in Brooklyn, NY from reclaimed wood with 2×2 quart stainless steel bowls that feed most medium to large dogs. Of course, little dogs can chow-down and drink up too!
Pet Lounge Studios is a Florida-based company creating natural bamboo furniture for pets. They have two new products that they’re trying to get off the ground on Kickstarter, a modern pet hammock and a raised feeder.
