A few months ago, Robyn Arouty — an extremely talented photographer and one of the most inspirational people I have had the honor of calling a friend — shared the above image on Facebook. It’s beautiful. It’s shocking. It’s uncomfortable. It’s hopeful… And it’s only part of the story.
In the weeks that followed, I eagerly anticipated updates from Robyn on the state of Kellan, the dog in the photo that represented a million dogs — and their uncertain stories — all at once. Was she healing? Thriving? Would she be adoptable?
Today, I’m happy to be able to share Kellan’s background and the photos that catalog her transformation. The following is the story of her journey, written by Robyn and re-published on Dog Milk with permission.
When I spotted this photo on our good friend Robyn Arouty’s photography page, I immediately had to find out a) where that bed came from and b) how one might get their paws on their very own. Turns out, it’s a brand new item from the good folks at Modernica!
Dog Milkers! We have a very, very, VERY exciting announcement to make today. Remember our post about the Donation by Design tags from blanketID? The ones where designers create a tag and a portion of the sales goes to the designer’s charity of choice? Yeah, that one! Well, we’ve been sitting on this info for a little while now, so you can imagine our excitement at finally being able to spill the beans. Drum roll, please…
We are thrilled to introduce the Dog Milk Donation by Design Collection for blanketID!
There aren’t enough exclamation marks in the world to adequately express how stoked we are about this. Seriously. So, want to hear more about our collaboration? Read on!
